I'm sorry, I really don't see what you are getting at here. What goes on in the accursed chatrooms of this place has little to nothing to do with roleplay in the game itself. That is what the roleplay boards are for. The chatrooms are possibly the worst idea that RavenBlack ever had, and as a result the quality of gameplay, and of players, rapidly disintegrated. Taking nothing away from Rayne's player though, I don't know her so can't make a judegment.
The thing is this, though. First and formost, this is not a 'vampire chat site' as you have said. It is an online, massively mulitplayer text based RPG. The chatrooms were created four years after the game, and rhe various roleplay boards, first showed themselves upon the face of the world wide web. So it is important to remember that a lot of the veteran (the in-game elders) players, such as myself, really don't see the chatrooms as being anything more than an annoyance, and regard (in IC terms, at least) the people that frequent them as scum. Now, that is not to say that on occaision we don't go in there, hell, you see some big names in there sometimes. The problem comes when you get the uppity 'noobs' that don't play the game, and godmode everyone. It is because of them that the stigma about blood points and powers first came about.
I remember back in early '03 when Andre was a member of the first Capadocian clan and it didn't matter that I had only been playing the game for about three months at that point. It didn't matter that Andre had little to no blood and even fewer powers. It mattered that he was respectful, and did what was needed to be done quickly and effectively. When the younger players lost their respect for the people that have been around longer than them and done better than them was when the game started to lose its appeal. What we are stuck with now, is a city populated by people that think that the chatrooms are as far as it goes. A city that is populated by people that have no idea about what came before them, and why it was so much better back then.
Come on, seriously. I ask any of you to tell me who the first three clans of the city were, and why the first ever clan disbanded. Why was it that der Tote was zero'd? No-one seems to remember, and more importantly, no one seems to care anymore. Without that roleplay, the city wouldn't be here, and yet the new players are all quick to hit the chatrooms and forget the game. Blood doesn't make your character, it never did and it never will. Powers make the game easier to play. What really matters is your attitude to the other players. If you're going to sit around with no blood and no powers, and attempt to play in the big leagues, you're going to be shouted down. It's how I learned. it's what made Andre as he is today.
I don't now what Rayne did or said, or who she said it to. But what I do know, is that if you're in the chatrooms and you make a mistake, it's going to be jumped on and torn apart. I do it from a purely in character perspective, some people don't. Get over it. If you don't like what goes on in the chatrooms, don't go there. Play the game, get clanned and roleplay as it was originally meant for you to do. Don't quit the game because of something that was said in the chatrooms. For the most part, the people that go there are utter morons anyway.
I can provide you links to various clan pages, and indeed the Y!M addresses of several clan leaders if you, or she, is interested. But at the end of the day remember that the chatrooms are not the game, and that they never will be. Very few of the older players actually give a damn about what happens there and I personally don't even see the 'Ghettos' as being part of the city at all.
To re-iterate my point. E-bullying, bad. Good roleplaying, good. The humans behind the vampires should never, ever judge other players by their vampire's stats. But the vampires do. It's the way the game is, these days. We just have to either ignore it and not interact with the morons that piss you off (which is why Andre doesn't acknowledge shaarinya and her bunch anymore), or shut up and put up with it. You have no right to complain about something unless you are prepared to try and change it.
