I'm a prick towards anyone who, regardless of their standing in the city, annoys me. *Beams proudly.*

Hahaha. Yeh, I hate e-bullies. I come in on alts all the time, so I guess I'm used to the, uh..less-than-friendly welcomings. But, yeh, some people can be pricks. I mean, Blade can be pretty bad at times, too, when n00bs are just acting like idiots, or rude to her. But also, she tries to help a lot of the...nicer n00bs. She's..in the middle, yeh?

I'm a prick towards anyone who, regardless of their standing in the city, annoys me. Aww, who's a clever boy, then? I'd suggest looking ito who you're about to piss off before actually doing it. It's called "intelligence". Or you just get loaded with weapons and kill the bitch before they kill you... my own personal favourite.

Not so angry, man.
Got issues? I'll talk them through with you. I'm thinking of you.

"Rank" and "status" doesn't mean a thing if you're being an ass.

No, but 'bank balance', 'allies' and 'weapon stock' really do. Or is he too wet behind the ears to realise this?

You act as if BP can't be gained back, Andre.

Blood can always be regained, it is the way of things. But being hit by holy water is quite a painful experience. Not that you would know, of course.

I may not know from physical experience no, but that doesn't mean HW hasn't hurt me just as much. You think it doesn't hurt to watch the people I love burn? Then you are sadly mistaken, and you know so little it's sad. True my blood has yet to have been spilled, but despite what you think dear -Uncle- that doesn't make me any less of vampire. Simply that I haven't had the occasion as yet, where as you, well, we all know you would sell your services to the highest bidder at one point.

I -do- take these things into account you two...
I don't agitate to the point of violence. I will simply let -anyone- know when they're being a tool.
Trust me, I don't want to stir the shit to the point of getting what little blood I've began to attain taken from me, or worse, the wrath carrying on to family members.
That is all.

I remember how angry I was when Alpha's childer was e-bullied. whether by chance or the sheer fact that I rarely post on main, Ive never experienced e-bullying myself.
However, when my childer made a social mistake IN PRIVATE the arrogant pricks took their social ostracizing to main page. Displayed her stats and everything.
And granted their are levels of social rules to learn and remember, but when no chance is given to educate or remind new, able and potentially great rp'ers and characters of them... in short, get fucked.
Andre is right: Having Blood, powers, allies and Vial upon Vial of Holy Water makes you feel powerful... its what everyone aspires to, because its what makes you safe. The Threat of war, rather than war itself... as someone whose aspiring to that, i know that in this game, it seems the only way to have any kind of credibility when so many don't give a fuck about good role playing compared to their intensely political intrigues.
But Id question whether we are also so prepared to rise up and protect those that are being victimized like this? Or are we as the older, more experienced and politically minded players more worried that we might cause more serious problems with others that are of the same level and status, but less appreciative of the new?
If they are close minded enough to emotional fuck over a noob , perhaps they will be so easy to start a legitimate, if not pointless war because someone of their ilk told them to shut the fuck up about it and rose up in defense of the weak.
As much as we might differentiate between In character and Out of character, there are always Human emotions involved.
Rayne-Tahlya's human was prepared to quit before she had even really started after she was e-bullied and it was because she felt no one she knew was prepared to step in and help her.
Maybe they weren't paying attention to main. Maybe they Just weren't saying anything.
And i honestly wasn't sure what to do about it, other than find them in chat and have a talk about manners... but without any HW or many powers to back up my argument, what threat would I have been?
Noobs have everything to gain, if they want it, Elders have everything to loose. Its classic sqauch the weak before they become the strong... so who helps the weak?
Granted there are fuck loads of people who think this is a joke, the only to tell them apart is by rp'ing, meeting them and letting them meet you, culturing their enjoyment and appreciation for the game and what it offers in both characterizations and the political intrigues of Clan, family and Lienage. And thats difficult enough with flooderz, not to mention so many of us playing arrogant, hostile cunts.

Well, as I stated earlier in this thread, there's always going to be a diference between 'e-bullying' and 'in-character bastardry'. Y'see, using Andre as an example again, if a vampire says something particularly stupid around him, he will take note of the fact and keep prodding at the wound with a wide array of verbal weaponry until the target collapses and runs off. But that is not James being like that.
What happened with Alpha's childe is regretable, but how can you be sure that it was an 'e-bully' attack, and not some 'in-character bastardry' of thet type Andre is such an exponent of?

Ok, yes Rayne got picked on, but is any of the Elder characters aware they they don't really help out younger players? I'd been there a week when this aforementioned incident happened. There are no rules to the etiqutte set out anywhere.
As far as I am concerned, using a character's stats against them is E-bullying. Being IC and saying the wrong thing at the wrong time is another so I admit there was fault there on my behalf.
But it would be nice if the the players that have been around since forever could possibly show those that have some potential the ropes.
Fuck the flooders and certainly fuck those who use another players stats to prove how big their dick is.
Hails.

Its Bastardry either way: Somone who ends up the butt of somone elses joke, whether it be an 'e-bully' attack, and not some 'in-character bastardry' probbaly arent going to care too much about the difference.
The only consolation there is that the 'in-character bastard' has just conveyed there charcter well.
Ive wrecked people before, on purpose, but usually in Private, and that gives them the chance to drop out at any time and Ignore me.
But for the sake of discussion...From the account:
One- She started a pm with one of them and she made a social error, in private. Rather than rping 'In chracter bastadry' as you say, and continuin the conversation in private with her, they took their bitching to the main room, so everyone could see their display of social ostraciscm showing off.
Two- There were two of them that partook in the E-Bullying, jointly. Bullies often are backed up by packs of weak-minded hangers on and lackeys. I would suggest that Andre's form of bastardry wouldn't rely on anyone elses opnion egging him on, nor agreeing with him, more on making his point that he does feel and act superior to those he finds contemptuous.
Three-They displayed her stats on main. They second sighted her, copied and pasted her stats for all to see, therby taking their 'argument' out of the context of what she said to piss them off, remove any semblance of the idea that somone might want to convey a charcter on the chat to attack directly the fact that she was New and weaker. In my book that is a despicable abuse of a power designed to gather Intelligence on somone, and instead used to humiliate and blatantly back up the fact that she was small and weak in the eyes, wherein fact she had had her charcter no more than a week. Plus, by posting her stats, they make it known that they have this ability and are readily prepared to use it to ridicule anyone else.
PLUS, if you say that 'in-character bastardry' a roleplaying device, and not just a means to actuall be cruel, then at least it offers the chance for the Target to proove you wrong by roleplaying back and maybe even roleplaying well (granted they usualy just end up prooving you right, but one can be optimistic). These two individuals (and yes I know who they are and no they are not forgiven) gave her no reason to want to say anything after that.
Granted this is not a Kindergarten, its a Vampire chat site. A level of cruelty is to be expected. As well as a level of endurance and a healthy dose of respect.
'in-character bastardry' is rolplaying. It should be done with finess and fore-thought and with a certain respect for the fact that it attacks a 'charcters' thoughst and feelings, not a 'players' mistakes or clumsiness.
E-bullying is crude, and relies on little thought or intelliegnce. Just a desire to make ones self feel better than others.
And Id say an Eldar defines themselves. Somone anyone else looks up to, admires, fears, respects, wants to be, follows, looks to for guidance.
Ive been rping on Ravenblack since what... about January 2006. I do not believe I met anyone I considered an Elder, by that definition, until around the time Alpha was Sired by Icsis... mostly because I met Janus shortly before, and now Alpha has met somone he is truly respectful and fearful of (yeah J DP, have the props:D).
