Scratch smiled happily to himself and half skipped into the room. His bright eyes darted around in search of familiar faces and he was pleasantly surprised to see more then a few. He ginned impishly and gave a small wave.. a mere waggle of the slender fingers on his left hand, to someone he knew. Scratch checked what the others were wearing and compared their choice of clothing to his own. He had opted for a pair of tight, dark jeans and a white loose fitting jacket that was done up to just below his breast bone. On his feet were his old battered tennis shoes. They were comfortable but filthy and almost falling apart. His dark hair was as untidy as ever and hung low over his left eye. He was pale and seemed to be underfed, as though he needed looking after. Despite his almost pitiful appearance, he had a smile on his face that could melt butter and he was more then happy to use it.
Scratch walked over to the bar and scrambled onto a stool. He gripped the edge of the bar with both hands and stared at the rows of bottled spirits, ales and other beverages. He looked at the images on the labels and the style of the lettering as he tried to work out what they were. The only alcohol he liked was the sweet, peach schnapps that his sire had allowed him to try but Scratch had no idea what it was called. He knew it as peach juice but was fairly sure that it had a more fancy name. Scratch nibbled on his lower lip and tried to avoid eye contact with the bar tender. Unfortunately for him, the bar was not busy and in the blink of an eye, the bartender was standing in front of the boy.
“What'll it be son?” the bartender asked.
Scratch smiled nervously and peered up through his dark hair. His blue gaze flickered to the rows of bottles and back.
“Umm can I have umm.. y'know the peach juice stuff? I dunno the name but it's clear and peachy and makes you go warm inside.”
Scratch was fully aware of how stupid he probably sounded but he was used to it and besides which, he didn't think that anybody was in ear shot. The bartender smiled and shook his head as he moved back and fixed Scratch his drink. He retuned and passed the glass of clear fluid to the pale boy.
“Thankies.” Scratch said, smiling shyly and picking up the glass, raising it to his soft, full lips. He peered around the room once more before returning his attention to the bartender.
“I'm here for the auction y'know. Umm I'm gonna try to get me sold so that I can meet more peoples and make more friends.”
He nodded happily and held his glass tighter. The bartender eyed him with a look of mild curiosity and amusement. Scratch was oblivious to this as he slowly spun around in his seat to face into the room. He let his bright gaze drift from face to face as he looked for somebody to talk to.

Angel had been wandering aimlessly around the room. Jake had so far been the only familiar face she had seen but she didn't want to take up all his time. So she roamed around, her curious emerald eyes taking in the details of her fellow vampires gathered in the bar. She spied a new face enter and watched as he made his way to the bard. The boy, yes boy, for that's what he looked like, was adorable. She had a vague recollection of who he might be but wasn't quite sure. She watched as he ordered his drink and spun around on the barstool to take in the room.
Deciding there was no time like the present, Angel made her way across the room. Her stiletto's made no sound as she moved and her knee length braid swayed gently down her back. She had dressed for comfort more than sex appeal. Fitted, faded stone washed jeans hugged her curves and slender legs and a black half shirt combined with the low rise waist of her jeans revealed the small, heart shaped naval ring.
She walked up to a stool next to Scratch, raising a slender hand to call the barkeep over. She ordered her customary scotch and smiled when the man slid it over. Slipping onto the stool, she turned her back to the bar and leaned on it, glass danglingly loosely from slender fingers. Her emerald gaze turned to Scratch, her crimson lips curving in a warm smile.
"Hello, I'm Angel. I don't believe we've met before." She said quietly, her accented voice for his ears only, her gaze attentive as she waited for his reply.

She walked in looking around very nervous as she has not been here before, So far she hasn't seen any one that she knew around here, So many new faces she has never seen before, She walked over to the bar and smiled at the the bartender and ordered a white Russian but do not make it to strong. She nodded a thank you when she was handed her drink and then turned to sit down,
She smiled at Scratch and at Angel St. John and said hello to both of them and then set down. She was Finley calming her nerves as she wondered who else could be here, She was hoping that she would see someone she knew, But it seems she hasn`t She hoped her Long red dress was OK for the auction the dress showed off every curve and her long dark hair was over her shoulders. She moved some of her hair out of her face as she took a sip of her white Russian,

Scratch was humming his Duck song in his head as he looked aimlessly around the room. He suddenly became aware of being watched and a slight look of panic flickered across his face. He blinked at the pretty woman that was approaching him then lowered his gaze submissively. Scratch listened as the woman ordered a drink and took a seat next to him. He only looked her way when she addressed him. As soon as he turned his head, Scratch let a warm, friendly smile settle on his soft lips.
“My name's Scratch and umm.. I dun think we've ever met either.”
He giggled softly and shook his head slowly. Scratch thought hard to try to recollect Angel's face but nothing came to mind. He mentally shrugged.
“Maybes we've passed in the city but I usually dun look where I'm going coz I'm always either playing chase, looking for cake shops or trying to find some fresh flowers.”
Scratch smiled happily then glanced to the next seat along where an attractive, dark haired woman in a red dress had taken a seat.
“Hellos.” He said softly.

She smiles softly as she heard a hello from the handsome fellow that was beside her, She did not know who he was just yet but he did seem kind of shy, she moved to look at him she smiled and said hello, She looked into his eyes and saw the shyness in them,
My name is shyeyeloverkil. But those who know me calls me shy, She took a small sip of her white Russian and looked over his shoulder and said hello to the hopefully nice woman that was beside him, She was also nervous this was her first time in the auction, Her eyes drifted back to the handsome pire that was sitting next to her as so how cute he held his head down, she slowly walked a little closer and lifted his head up,.
There is no need to hold your head down, smiling at him she walks back over to her sit and sits down carefully not to rip her dress.

With a warm smile at Shy and Scratch, Angel took a sip of her drink once more, her eyes scanning the room curiously.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both. I've never been in the auction before. Have you? It will be interesting to see how it will turn out."
She grinned wickedly, remembering some of the teasing comments her family and friends had made. So long as every one had a good time, where was the harm? Looking carefully around the room, she couldn't believe how many people had decided to show. There were only one or two faces she recognized and the rest, it was a good bet she knew their names, but couldn't place the name to the face. She knew of more people than people knew of her.

Scratch turned a deep shade of pink as the woman stepped closer and lifted his chin. Her fingers were cool and soft, almost like silk. He smiled as she did, his bright blue eyes alighting on hers.
“Shy is a pretty name.. I like it.. it's different.”
As the woman moved back to her seat, Scratch turned his head to follow her movements. She regained her seat, smoothing over her dress carefully. Once more Scratch's thoughts turned to his own outfit and a shadow of doubt crept into his mind. Everyone else seemed to have dressed to impress and Scratch felt self concious. He rubbed his left thumb against his upper thigh and sighed softly.
Scratch seemed to jump back into reality as Angel spoke. He blinked rapidly, a confused expression on his face before relaxing and smiling once more.
“I been to an auction before y'know.”
Scratch settled back in his seat and glanced from Angel to Shy and back.
“Umm the last one I think.. I'm not too sure if there's been one since but it was lots of fun and I made new friends and I loved my week with the lady who bought me. She's one of my best friends now and umm.. well I bet you both love being a part of this auction.”
He nodded and resisted the urge to start spinning around in his seat. Both Angel and Shy seemed to be looking for someone to talk to.. searching for a familiar face in the crowd of unknown vampires. Scratch was happy to talk to anyone. He had a trusting nature that had gotten him in trouble on more then one occasion. He couldn't change who he was though and quite frankly, he didn't want to be anyone other then himself. Spending almost his entire life.. and parts of his unlife alone had made Scratch appreciate even the smallest of gestures. He saw the best in everyone and he treated all as equal.
Scratch hugged himself happily and stared across the room.

Scratch smiled at Shy and took the compliment. He blushed softly and raised one hand, running his fingers through his dark, untidy locks.
“I think lots of peoples come back to the auction beeeecoz they know that it's fun and that people leave their differences at the door. There aren't many times when you get members of rival clans in the same building and all working towards the same thing. I like it.. makes me feel kinda hopeful.”
With a nod, Scratch lifted his glass and sipped at the sweet liquid. It burnt his throat a little as Scratch was not used to drinking alcohol. He swallowed and peered almost with apprehension into the glass.
“I dun drink this stuff much coz it is kinda burny and it makes me go a bit silly.”
He grinned and returned his gaze to the woman in the red dress at his side.
“I usually jus drink strawberry milkshakes.”
