Coming from someone who is currently under 1k, I agree.

Hm.. again, being under 1K, I must disagree somewhat. But while I was sitting in the bathroom today, I had a flash of inspiration. What if RBC was a spot on the map? You would HAVE to maneuver through the city to get to RBC, because only clicking on the RBC "Move here" link would take you to the chat pages. It doesn't neccessarily make the "I don't play the gamers" play, but it would lessen the number of kids who stay in the same place in the city all the time. Another idea, a cover charge of 1 BP per entrance to chat (not counting page refreshes because we all have computer issues sometimes). But this would remedy the no-pints coming in. Even if you have 3 pints, you can afford to come into chat, but you still have to play the game. Upon leaving chat, the RavenBlack system would automatically bump you to one space away, solving the issues of people staying in the RBC space all the time.
I doubt RavenBlack would consider it though. It seems a good idea to me, or is it serious flawed and I'm just not recognizing it?

As cool as that might be, there's a problem or two with having to go to a specific spot on the map in order to get to the chats.
For one thing, that means that every single person that wants to chat has to be hanging around that area at almost all times. And how much of a pain is it to just get somewhere else you want to be? Now we're going to have to go out, do our stuff, then sprint back to that spot so that we can go to the chats. And what if you're on a quest (mainly Locate or Celerity)? You'd be unable to go into the chats for a couple weeks at a time.
Next, there's no where near enough room to fit as many people that want to be in the chat rooms into a square in the city. And even if you added multiple places, you'd pretty much have to make so many that it'd be a moot point compared to just having the link we have now.
Sorry to burst your blood-bubble -shrug-

And, even if they are getting just a few pints to enter the chats, they aren't really playing the game.

Eh. Like I said, I came up with it in the bathroom. It sounded good for a while... Bwahahaha. Oh well. I think the fix we made for floods in unmodded will help somewhat.

I do think that it would be a good idea to have some sort of limitation on the chats, not necessairily a BP limit, but perhaps...an IQ test? Or...maybe something along the same lines of what Coquette said and have a base blood, maybe something a tad bit lower so that even the people who get attacked/zeroed can come into the chats. After all, not all of the no pints are flooders and twats

Perhaps there could be a measure of activity required to access chats? Like.. 50 AP used in 24 hours? It's not much of a restriction, and would at least get people moving around. Especially if it was just for one or two rooms.

I still think there should be a room simply for people that have donated. Either that, or do away with the chats completely. Worst idea Raven ever had, in my opinion.

The chat rooms suck ballz because they create an attraction for people who dont want to do the whole "Play the Game" thing, yeah? And it aggravates those who do, and yet, everyones always in the same place.
I think Andre's idea of having a room for ppl who have donated is a good idea. And I think Janus idea of establishing better rules on the existing rooms is good.
But there are 11 rooms in both modded and un-modded as well as the capacity for anyone to create their own private room and invite who they wish. And yet everyones always in X-Rated_RP, where the flooders and noobs hang out. Its not like there isnt the ability to create variety.
So how come no one, that is, of those who do like to chat, havent already conceived of establishing there own Rooms, effectively creating a new environment?

Actually, we used to have a few special rooms we would go (such as thecrypt), though mostly these days I only go into chats to talk to specific people and will speak to them in PM, rarely paying much attention to the main room. If the flooding gets too much etc, occasionally we will create a room to go to, and you should know this as you have come along before .
