It was that time again, time for her desk to look like a nightmare. Groaning and shoveling post it notes off her desk at a break neck speed, her fingers flying through the emails, and phone messages at the same time. "Call Sartori." "Check on refreshements for auction." "Have dress picked up by 7." Looking at the last note.... and pondering. What dress... and what day was it sapposed to have been picked up... and where .. oh hell. Sighing she slid away from the avalanche of mess on her desk, she tossed her hands up and decided to make her way down stairs to check on the sign-up process. Mumbling to herself. "I'm going to organze all that mess one day I swear." She had tried the palm pilot, she had tried a mini laptop, she had tried every piece of technology that had been handed to her, and she still had yet to find anything she liked better than post it notes. Making her way down the steps and sliding into the Auction hall she grinned at the people milling about and just leaned against the door jam, her gaze sliding about the room taking in what was going on.

Ember made her way easily into the auction hall and signed herself up amongst the various other names, one of which was her own beloved sire. This was her second time at auction, so she was less afraid now than she had been the first time she had participated; of course, the lingering fear that an unkind master might pick her up was there, but she pushed it back from her mind and went about searching for a familiar face. That face was leaning against the door jam, grinning and watching the room.
"Icky!"
The voice was happily rendered, just barely a shout so the others in conversation wouldn't be disturbed. As she trotted over to Icsis, heels clicking on the floor, she found that she couldn't wait to be given a giant hug. She stopped just short of the woman, holding her arms out as a light smile curled the edges of her lips.
"It's been awhile. I'm glad to see you here, but of course, how could I forget when you run it. Silly me, huh?"

Jocelyn sauntered into the hall without hesitation, tossing her vibrant red curls over her shoulder and adjusting the kitty ears she had decided to wear, the other hand smoothing down her black cat suit. The sound of her tall leather boots echoed around her, causing the woman to giggle as she entered the main area to spot Icsis and a woman who looked oddly familiar, though a name she could not quite recall. "Evening to you, ladies." She called, a wicked grin curving her lips, stopping close by to look them over.

Ember turned at the sound of a voice and clicking heels. The heels sounded much like her own, and she wasn't surprised to find another woman approaching both herself and Icsis. She was still half-turned to Icsis, awaiting the woman's answer, but this newer person was proving interesting.
"Evening." She quipped back happily, the goofy grin she had been giving Icsis just moments ago still on her face. "I don't think I've met you, or maybe I have and I don't remember... but if we haven't been formally introduced, I'm Ember."

With a stretch to her tip-toes, the petite hatter begins her way into the auction hall for some socializing. She hopes to find a small circle she can invade and just kind of listen in. Socializing isn't exactly her thing, but she tries. . . when she can or feels like it. Smiling, bare feet carry her in Icsy, Ember, and Jocey's direction. "A mighty hallo!" calls Lyn with a small bat of her 'lashes. She has certainly found that small group that she wants to somewhat cling to, very leech-like.

"Lynneh, you're in the auction too?" She said with surprise, having most likely missed the tiny hatter's name on the list of participants. Ember had always thought that the tiny hatter was the cutest thing she had seen in a long time, and since coming to know her, she had found that the woman was both interesting and fun to be around.
The auction could only get better from here, and knowing people both inside of it and those who might be bidding was a definite plus. Unbeknownst to her at first, Ember's hands were quietly shaking just the tiniest bit, nerves finally getting to her the closer that it came time to actually be put up for bid. She definitely needed a calming agent.
Turning so that all three women could hear her talk, she spoke again. "Shall we go for drinks, or are we going to remain in the entrance hall for a time more?"

Unobtrusive. That was his operative word in these halls. Despite being the lead enforcer of the events that took place within the walls of the DR establishment, his modus operandi was based on unobtrusiveness. Sure, a growled threat here and there kept the clientele in check but he rarely had to resort to action.
That was a good thing, he thought. Actions could wait. His fingers drummed on the surface of the table he currently occupied alone, slouched down in the thick wooden booth. A warm beer sat on the table before him, the condensation that had gathered on its glass exterior having dripped into a puddle around the untouched container. Beneath his sweater's hood his face was only visible from the lips down and even that little bit of expression conveyed impassiveness.
When the redhead appeared in the entryway, his fingers stopped their restless movement on the tabletop and he sat up a little, regarding her choice of outfit as his bottom lip curved in, teeth biting it a little.
A short giggle escaped him as his eyes traced over the utterly perfect lines of his wife's body, taking their time over her backside. He couldn't help it and besides, she didn't know he was here or even that he had signed up for the auction block, so he contented himself with the anonymous appraisal of the body he had become so familiar, so intimate with.
Christ... he thought, nobody could afford what that ass is worth. A smile creased his lips as he sat back in his booth, fingers resuming their quiet, gentle drumming.
Unobtrusive. That was him.

She should have worn something fancier.
This was the only thought that crossed Blade's mind as she looked around at the filling auction hall, watching the beautiful ladies and handsome men mingle and talk. Everyone was wearing such nice clothing... and here she was, in the cheapest clothes in the place. She couldn't help but feel a little self-conscious as she sat there, legs crossed on her seat, fingers tap-tap-tapping on the arm of the chair. Biting the inside of her cheek, she stayed quiet while she did battle inwardly, before deciding to get off her butt and attempt to mingle.
"Howdy," she said simply once she got near Jocelyn was, leaning over so the redhead could hear her words over the bustle of the auction. A grin crossed Blade's lips as she ruffled her own blonde hair, green eyes sparkling. "Gonna be an interesting auction this year, eh Jocey?"
