It's high time someone brought up the issue of Homework, that dreaded thing which we all seem to encounter at some miserable point in our poor tortureous lives.
I first recieved homework at the miniscule age of 6 and from then on, the sufferance has not stopped.
All right, by comparison to some people I get jack shit in the way of homework, but it's still annoying when it gets in the way of undoubtedly more important things.. like talking to people or working on my pire. The only clinical reason that they can produce for this is "you need to revise or you forget" Yeah, and giving me something that I loathe and will do as quickly as I can is Really going to encourage that. The best way to learn is to be Enthused about what you do, also a help in teaching. Forcing work upon people in their home time is not helping. By and large, the people I know have an enormous willingness to learn, when given the chance. They dive into everything they can get their hands on, muck about and try desperately to find out more about it. On the other hand, no-one who I consider to be a friend could possibly be normal, so that's probably a bad example.
I still believe that teachers should spend more time bettering themselves so they encourage the students instead of sitting down and building up the resentment that comes with ladelling homework upon poor unsuspecting students, already suffering through 6 or so hours of school a day.
