Ooh the first one to vote and answer! Alright. I still have fun, I very much enjoy the game on a -whole-. My character has gone the full circle just about (from nobody, to somebody, to somebody everyone wants to know). That in mind, I'm sometimes disappointed. Especially given how many players are leaving, or just not -doing- anything interesting anymore. I've come to the point I'm just waningly optimistic; "Something will happen soon". But while I wait... I'm definately getting bored.
I guess you could say I'm still entertained, but slowly losing interest. The thing keeping me round is the relationships between characters. And the hope that it'll get interesting at some point.

I put that I've had as much fun as I've always had, because, well, I don't have much to compare it to. Sure, Blade's been ACTIVELY around since, well.. Prolly May is when she started getting a bit more noticed? And the rising recognition is making it more fun, for me at least. Sure, drama's always a problem, but it makes it all the more.
Sometimes, I get bored, but who doesn't? Then I just take a break, and when I get back, there's more stuff to catch up on, so I'm happy with it again. I just hope something.. bigger happens soon, 'cos when I look at RavenBlack's history compared to now.. Well, Blade's living a boring life compared to the past! Ah, well. We both have our fun.m

I'd pick the first if the damn thing would let me. I think I'm giving Papa grey hairs. >.> Poor gay man. He'll have to get it dyed.

First option. Shit goes up and down, things happen but hey... I still enjoy and it's a great waste of time when you're bored . I'm content with where Jocelyn is currently and have plans for her, so, i'm happy enough with the game I suppose. It's more OOC stuff that's pissing me off, people being all "You hit my character!" It's like ummm, no, my character hit yours, have them talk about it, I don't want to hear it... It's a bit silly. Such is life! Don't like it, don't play it, right?

Again with the nothing to compare it to. Although I still feel like I'm building my character up in every respect it's fun deconstructing and reconstructing her every day.
The only thing that shits me is when IC stuff gets too involved in the OOC.
Oh and that people always forget that it's only a game.......

Back in '02-'03, stuff actually happened. The city was made bigger, for one thing. The Ferrymen made the first map of the city, for another (can be found here). There were wars, there were duels. There was intrigue without drama, there was decent, regular, RP from everyone. There was Capadocious in his heyday, there was Mooncalf doing what he did best. There was Archangel being a cock, and the Church of Blood almost zeroing RavenBlack himself (the reason why he's now neutral. Pussy). In short... things were fun. A lot of fun. Now... There are no wars. Cap, Moonie, and Cocknut (Archangel) have moved on and left. The Church of Blood is a mockery of its former self, and there's fuck all RP, apart from the stuff Vermathrax and co write. The city is rife with piss-poor melodrama that wouldn't even be allowed in soap operas. Suddenly, it's okay to not be respectful to anyone. Suddenly, it's okay to try and stop wars from happening, when in the past this would be heresy. The city is stagnating, slowly dying, choked by drama. What it needs is a good purge. It's less than half as fun as it used to be.

Oh and that people always forget that it's only a game....... for me that's the biggest point to make, people used to know it's just a game, and play it for fun, rather than now, people are playing it all out to "win" - we have a shit load less RP than there used to be, because people spend all their energy concentrating on new ways to "win" - there's people writing programs that'll run hoards of alts for them, people buying IP address changers to move coins from said alts without Raven catching them, even as far as making up shit-face stories to drop their main character into shadows and continue attacking an opponent with an alt so that they can claim victory, no matter how bad it makes them look. The game is no longer about it being a game, about it being fun to play, its about winning, and for most of us that were fighting each other back with it was just about it being a game, the city now, sucks. Time for an enema *nods*

Yet another that has nothing to compare the present RBC to... But ya, I've read stuff, histories, and I am so jealous of the people who were around back then >.< It really did use to be so fun, it seems... As I can't compared it though, I do have fun. I wouldn't be playing it if I wouldn't have. But hardly anything is amusing as it used to be anymore. Heck, I'm reading Moonie's old Raven Times (or, saved archives) and it's effin killing me XD Nobody seems to write stuff that funny these days. I know this sounds childish but we would need him and Cap and the rest of them back... Because, in my opinion, few people still around make it as interesting as they used to, and those with the ability and will to, can't because of the ignorant and IC/OOC crossing newer players (or, older ones too, Idk <_<)

I'm the same as the two Rayne's - I haven't been here long enough too compare anything to. But despite that, I'm finding the fun I used to have a couple of months ago is slowly dwindling away. Its almost as if the city has chosen to fall into a stage of boredom, nothing overly exciting seem's to be happening. Just a crap load of drama I don't care enough about.
And the crossing is doing my head in, it gets tiring everytime I sign on to find a message of some sort asking why I insulted such-and-such, how they thought I was their friend and whatnot, blah blah blah. Seriously its a game! Its a mindless way I idle away the hours I don't spend working.
I wish the RP would come back again, I used to RP a lot back when I was powering up, in modded and such. But with the somewhat increase in idiots that appear in there, and the need to somehow colour everything with drama - I choose to leave the place alone. I love RP-ing, it was one of the main reasons why I joined in the first place - otherwise it would become like pushing a counter around a board.
So yeah, bring back RP and exciting stuff. Ditch the drama and idiots. ;D

When I arrived here, I had absolutely no idea what roleplaying even was. I had a wonderfull time learning, and though I made an ass of myself regularly, it was the most fun I've had online, ever. I miss the constant RP, the acceptance of basicly any post so long as it was legible and such. It feels like our ability to be creative has been cut out by the excessive 'rules' most of the 'eldars' have set up. You get scorned if you get creative in just about any way. It's disheartening and it's put a crimp on my willingness to simply start posting and see where things go. I still find a handfull of people who are still here for what rp has to offer, but I'd say about eighty percent of the time it's OOC rambling and bullshit now.

but I'd say about eighty percent of the time it's OOC rambling and bullshit now. Erm... the RBC-OOC board hasn't had a post to it in months, other than to say that Murrz is going to be in Sweden over Christmas, and the RBB-OOC board is dead, rather like its parent... Admittedly, the 'papers' do seem to be infused with the bitter, bitter taste of IC/OOC crossing, but, in the city as a whole, it's not that prevalent. I can't speak for the chats. Worst idea Raven ever had. Actually, you can kinda chart the decline in the RP from when the chats were implemented. We were inundated with little kids that thought that the chats were all there is to the game, and many still do, disregarding the years' worth of RP on the various Yahoo! groups, or RBRP. Now, I know full-well that this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but seeing as a very, very small minority of this community were around back then...

RBRP is a pathetic example of roleplay within the game... The quality of the RP may be good there (even very good at times) but people are so ignorant towards the game... they don't know the difference between a "newbie" and a "n00b", who Cap was, what clans there are, that vamps have IDs, that paying for powers isn't cheating, etc. Most of them are completely cut off like that... *shakes head* A shame. No actual people with game knowledge/elders frequent it though, so maybe that could be an explanation. But really it's been going downhill lately. Like the game itself pretty much v.v Sorry for being off topic XP *goes to hide*

Ergh, I haven't rp'd properly, or written in much detail for years because no one really cares anymore. My stuff is quite basic and short because I haven't the time or the patience to do something that no one other than a few will give a shit about. I used to enjoy it, but it's become a hassle and that sucks. This used to be how I would chill out, come home and move my vamps, write some rp, muck around with some clan stuff, read other peoples stuff and any news that was about... Ah well, things change. I do still enjoy aspects of the game, but others making me want to tear my hair out and just give up lol.

RBRP is a pathetic example of roleplay within the game... Oh, quite. I merely mentioned it as it is another RP board. Thee are several of the things all over the place.
